The Directory of the Latin American and Caribbean Society of Transplant carried out its last in person directory meeting, in the beautiful city of Valparaiso-Chile on November 30th, 2012.
The meeting was preceded by Dr. Roberto Tanús, congregating the following members of the board: Dr. Domingo Casadei (Argentina), Dr. Alejandro Nino Murcia (Colombia), Dr. Maria Amalia Matamoros (Costa Rica), Dr. Josefina Alberu y Dr. Rafael Reyes (Mexico), Dr. Mireya Ortiz and Dr. Jose Toro (Chile). Dr. Eduardo Tanus, President of the Ethics Committee and Dr. Mariela Salome, Legal Assistant of the Society also participated.
Among the important issues of the agenda, the 2012 management report was delivered, and was published on our website. The activities for 2013 were set up: Extension courses. Scholarship postulations dates, advances on the XXII Latin American and the Caribbean Transplant 2013 Congress in Buenos Aires.-Argentina.
One of the outstanding issues was of the advances in the organization of the Meeting of Presidents of member societies, which will take place in Bogota-Colombia in March.
After an extensive and arduous meeting that took place from 08:00 to 15:00, the Directory had the opportunity to visit and tour around the unique city of Valparaiso, patrimony of humanity. Afterwards the meeting was with the Chilean Society of Transplant who toasted a welcoming dinner.
